Program objective
The objective of the Program is to deliver funding to Local Control Authorities for weeds to enable them to undertake activities that:
- prevent the establishment of new State and regional priority weeds
- eliminate or prevent the spread of State and regional priority weeds
- ensure NSW has the ability and commitment to manage State and regional priority weeds, and
- respond effectively to changing biosecurity priorities.
The Program is designed to implement strategies of the NSW Invasive Species Plan 2023-2028 that provides the best return on investment. This will be achieved through activities that align to the NSW State Weed Strategic Plans, and prevention, eradication, and containment priorities described in Regional Strategic Weed Management Plans and/or support the NSW Weeds Capacity Building and Engagement Priorities.
This program is funded and administered by Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development.
