About the Project

The Y Yarramundi redevelopment will continue the site’s 85-year legacy and transform the site into a more universally designed and inclusive complex that caters to people of all ages and abilities.

Project Scope

The project features: 

  • Construction of three new accommodation lodges delivering an additional 220 beds across the site 
  • Replacement or upgrade of remaining cabins to meet required standards
  • Construction of a new kitchen and dining area 
  • Restoration of river access, including new footpaths and viewing platforms
  • Installation of telecommunications boosters to provide 4G and 5G coverage 
  • Installation of a cultural garden to provide food and education 
  • Replacement and expansion of all-abilities outdoor programs and activities, including high ropes courses, cave access and abseiling
  • Upgrade of the existing recreation hall to a mixed-use space
  • Replacement of footpaths, tracks, lighting and wayfinding signage
  • Upgrades to existing utility services
  • Installation of solar panels and battery storage 
  • Construction of outdoor kitchens and an amphitheatre to support weekend music festivals and other events.
