Program objective
This project is funded by the Australian Government’s Regional Fund for Wildlife and Habitat Bushfire Recovery-NRM and the NSW Government. It is a partnership with South East Local Land Services aimed at:
- supporting the recovery of threatened species impacted by the North Black Range bushfire of 2019-20
- through specified land management activities on private land.
This program is administered by Department of Regional NSW.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- own land impacted by the North Black Range fire in 2019-2020
- allow Local Land Services to perform an environmental assessment
- allow access to Local Land Services and their contractors to the property to perform works
- be prepared to maintain any funded project at own cost
- be prepared to undertake co-contributions to achieve project objectives.

Types of projects funded under this grant
Where links to threatened species are established, the following types of activity can be funded:
- erosion control
- fencing to protect waterways
- revegetation with native species
- weed control.
What can’t you apply for
- erosion control on access roads and private tracks
- weed control where links to threatened species habitat cannot be established.

Prepare your expression of interest with this checklist
Your application must include:
- applicant/s name and contact details
- property owner’s name and contact details
- ABN
- length of time owning property
- property name, address and size
- property ID or lot/s and DP/s
- type and number of stock
- details of any previous projects funded through the Catchment Management Authority/Local Land Services, including what program projects were funded under and if any of these are incomplete
- details of eligible on-ground works proposed.
Address the eligibility criteria
Funding is available for a range of on-ground works designed to control gully erosion and stream bed/bank erosion.
Project activities may include:
- soil conservation earthworks
- streambed and bank works
- fencing of vulnerable areas and alternate stock water.
Works generally require the regeneration of existing native vegetation and this may involve:
- fencing
- revegetation
- weed control.
Funded projects will aim to address processes that continue to threaten the habitat of known threatened species in the area.
Further guidelines regarding the eligibility of projects will be discussed upon site inspection.
