What’s this about?
The Barwon Darling Bush Fire Management Committee is seeking feedback on a draft bush fire risk management plan (BFRMP) for the Barwon Darling region in North Western NSW.
A BFRMP is a document that identifies:
- bush fire risk to communities
- ways of reducing the impact of fires across an area to keep people safe and protect the things we value.
The Barwon Darling Bush Fire Management Committee is made up of fire agencies, land managers and other stakeholders. They have been working hard to find ways to reduce the impact of fires in the Bourke and Brewarrina Local Government Areas – protecting lives, homes, businesses, the environment, cultural values and other assets in this region.
The plan will be exhibited online and at 4 local offices:
- Bourke Fire Control Centre
- Brewarrina Fire Control Centre
- Bourke Shire Council Chamber
- Brewarrina Shire Council Chamber.
Your feedback is important. By planning together, we will help shape the bush fire risk management plan for this area for the next 5 years.
