Plant registration and licensing reform

What’s this about?

NSW Resources, within the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, invites comments on proposed reforms to the plant registration and activity licensing regime under the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation 2022 (the WHS (MPS) Regulation).

The proposed reforms will amend some requirements including:

• plant and item registration
• activity licensing.

These will be replaced with:

• the Australian and international standards
• national accreditation schemes or performance standards.
