Gosford Hospital Redevelopment

The project delivered a major upgrade in health services and facilities for communities in Gosford and on the Central Coast, including a new 11-storey building new front entrance.

Project information

The redevelopment enables new treatment models to be introduced and will deliver improvements to the quality of patient care.

The planning process included significant consultation with clinical staff, consumer representatives and other stakeholders during the detailed design of the buildings. 

Scope

The project delivered: 

• new Emergency Department
• new Intensive Care Unit and high dependency unit
• enhanced operating theatre capacity
• new cardiovascular services
• new maternity services including new birthing unit, special care nursery and inpatient beds
• expanded paediatric services
• new cardiac care unit and inpatient beds
• new medical imaging/nuclear medicine facilities
• new psychiatric emergency care centre expanded cancer services
• new hospital main entrance
• significant additional inpatient beds including rehabilitation and geriatric services for medical, acute and sub-acute services
• clinical and non-clinical support services.
