Termination of Visits-Restrictions and Banning of Visitors

Use this procedure to manage risks to the safety and security of the centre, or the health and wellbeing of a young person by visitors.

Visiting bans may be imposed with the following restrictions:

  • from visiting YJNSW centres generally or from visiting any specified Youth Justice NSW Centre
  • from visiting young people generally or from visiting any specified young person or class of young person.

The steps to be taken by staff depend on the role of the staff member. These roles include: Unit Manager, Assistant Unit Manager, Unit Supervisor, and Centre Manager.
