Heads up

We are moving to a new home at nsw.gov.au. Some information here may change during the move.

What we do

The Office for Youth ensures that children and young people in New South Wales are meaningfully involved in government decisions that shape their lives.

The Office for Youth:

  • consults with children and young people aged 0-24 on a wide range of topics
  • works with the NSW Youth Advisory Council to advise the NSW Government on issues that are relevant to young people across the state
  • provides grants to organisations that provide services for children and young people
  • supports improving outcomes through research, advice and collaboration across government.

The Advocate for Children and Young People leads the Office for Youth. The Advocate promotes the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people in NSW.
