Regional plans and management

NSW has 11 emergency management regions made up of local government areas. Regional plans describe how emergencies are managed on a regional basis.

Regional emergency management committees

A regional committee is responsible for implementing emergency management policy and practice across each region. They:

  • review and prepare plans for the region, including sub plans or supporting plans
  • recommend and assist in the coordination of emergency management across their region
  • develop, conduct and evaluate regional emergency management training exercises
  • facilitate regional emergency management capability through interagency coordination, cooperation and information sharing arrangements.
