Plans for Moree
The new Precinct will create long-term job opportunities and attract investors, making it easier for both new and existing businesses to thrive, and strengthening the region’s economy.
Pending the outcome of the investigation, businesses that set up in the SAP will have access to necessary common-user infrastructure such as heavy-duty roads and digital connectivity. Support from a business concierge service will fast-track planning processes, ensuring they are established quickly and successfully.
Freight and logistics
Moree is set to become a true intermodal hub with road, rail and air transport links available, including connection to the Port of Newcastle, that will enable businesses to access global markets.
Advancements in farming technology and on-farm storage will also increase Inland Rail efficiency, enabling it to move increased volumes of product off the roads and via the rail network.
Known for its high-value agricultural produce and innovative farming, Moree is in the middle of the most productive grain region in Australia.
With a concentration of agribusinesses, there are opportunities to support value-adding industries, including:
- fertiliser manufacturers
- grain products
- meat products
- nut processing.
The master planning process will begin, a boundary for the potential SAP will be determined, and community, stakeholder and industry consultation will take place.
Community members and landowners will have an opportunity to contribute and provide feedback to the Master Planning team over the coming months, and help shape the vision for this exciting project.
