Bithry Inlet is a pristine south coast estuary, located at the mouth of Wapengo Lake in Mimosa Rocks National Park.
Enjoy a stroll along the sandy shores, take a dip in the warmer months or enjoy beach or estuary fishing.
The area around Bithry inlet is a valuable breeding habitat for many fish species. Fishing along the heads is the best spot, with bream, salmon, mulloway and flathead the most popular fish. The best time is around dusk.
Toilet amenities, picnic tables, and BBQ areas make it an excellent place to come to relax. From the picnic area, it is possible to walk along the coast to Middle Beach.
Historic Myer House offers boutique self-contained accommodation set on Bithry Inlet, available to book through the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service website.
Kenneth Myer of the Myer Foundation built this house from a design by renowned architect Sir Roy Grounds, and they generously donated it to NPWS in 1976.
Wapengo Lake is a significant oyster-producing estuary of the Sapphire Coast, having supported a thriving oyster farming industry since the late 1880s. Wapengo Rocks was first oyster farm in Australia to be certified organic, and their multi-award-winning oysters can be savoured in local restaurants and eateries in Tathra and Bermagui.
