About this location
Collaroy Beach is a surf beach that adjoins Narrabeen Beach forming a long stretch of coast. Collaroy Beach also forms part of an accessibility precinct that includes an all-abilities playground and access to a FreeWheeler which provides wheelchair access onto the sand and the surf.
Collaroy Beach is partly protected from the wind and swell from the south, making it a perfect beach for beginners, swimmers and families. There is also a saltwater ocean pool however, if you prefer a smaller and quieter beach, just a short walk around the corner you will find Fisherman’s and Long Reef Beach. Don’t forget your snorkel and mask as this is a great snorkelling spot to look for feather stars, heart urchins and sea slugs (also known as nudibranchs).
Due to the long and open stretch of coast at Collaroy-Narrabeen, it is prone to erosion, especially during storm events.
