Nestled in the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, Jenolan Caves is the oldest cave system in the world. Jenolan Caves offers an opportunity to explore one of Australia's true natural wonders through guided tours of over 12 unique showcaves.
Formed over 360 million years ago, the showcaves are renowned for their spectacular crystal formations, dramatic caverns, subterranean rivers and rare geological features and fossils that set each showcave apart.
But Jenolan is more than caves — it's a conservation reserve and sanctuary for Australian wildlife. The area is home to a variety of native flora and fauna, including the endangered Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby, which finds refuge in the rugged cliffs and bushland surrounding the caves.
Adding to the experience is the heritage-listed Caves House, offering boutique accommodation and featuring one of only two remaining grand dining rooms in Australia, offering an unforgettable dining experience in a historic setting, surrounded by nature.
The recently refurbished Mountain Lodge provides another accommodation option with a variety of rooms available including family rooms.
Whether you're seeking adventure, relaxation, or a deeper connection to Australia's natural and cultural heritage, Jenolan Caves delivers an experience that is truly unique. From immersive cave tours and rivers flowing underground to heritage accommodation and rare wildlife, every visit is a step into an ancient, living landscape.
