Lilli Pilli Beach

Lilli Pilli Beach, near Batemans Bay on the Eurobodalla South Coast, is a picturesque horseshoe bay tucked away off the main road in the suburb of Lilli Pilli. With crystal clear water and golden sand, it's a great choice for families wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the better-known beaches. The beach is a point of interest on the Munjip Trail. Look for the patterned wall on the amenities block by Indigenous artist Timeika Reena Slockee, part of a series of installations along the trail reflecting the naturally occurring patterns found in the landscape. Several small pebbly coves at the southern end are fascinating for children to explore, and put you in a good position to spot the dolphin pods that often visit this stretch of coastline. There are no Surf Life Saving Australia services at the beach. Waves average around half a metre and are usually a fairly calm rolling wave, but can get rough with an easterly swell. The grassy reserve has a barbecue and swing set, with toilets behind the car park. Entry is free. Dogs are allowed on a time-share basis, before 9am and after 5pm from 1 November to 30 April and at any time from 1 May to 31 October.
