Ever wondered where the Longest Whitewater Trail in Australia starts? Well, that would be on the Nymboida River.
The Nymboida River is a great place for canoeing, rafting, and swimming. Swimming in a massive waterhole. Flat-water paddling at the waterhole and upstream. Whitewater paddling downstream. And if you love fishing, they hear that folks have caught or at least seen Australian Bass, Brown Trout, and Macquarie Perch in the river but if you are heading out there to catch your fill just remember some native fish are protected and may not be taken.
There are great camping spots available along the river. Pack a picnic, everything you could need is available at Grafton. The crystal clear river water is suitable for drinking, but bring your own if you have any doubts. Bring your firewood and don’t forget water playthings (canoes, kayaks, tubes, lilos) and freshwater fishing gear.
