Neighbouring the Wellington Caves, the garden is an ideal setting for a restful picnic before or after a tour of the caves or a round of golf. Offering a tranquil, retreat ideal for relaxation, a winding stream and reflection pool beneath a shaded pavilion.
Stop on the water pavilion and watch the impressive koi fish swim leisurely around the pond, while you rest your legs or observe the ducks. The garden is the ideal place to let the kids run around and explore or even just for you to let go and unwind.
The Wellington Osawano Japanese Garden was established in 1999 with 1,500 individual plant specimens being planted including 126 different species. The garden was officially opened by the Mayor of Oswano Maachi, Mr Tadao Nakasai on November 21st 1999.
The scenic garden is the perfect spot to wander around or stop for an outdoor lunch with seating available. The man made 'mountain' from which water trickles into a stream then a pond, is a main feature of the garden.
Wellington Toyama Osawano Japanese Gardens is a facility of Dubbo Regional Council.
