Wester is a new independently ran gallery space in Mulubinba / Newcastle West for emerging and established contemporary creative visual artists.
Founded in 2022 by Newcastle artist Justin Lees and located in Newcastle West — one of Newcastle up and coming areas of the CBD — they oversee a dynamic schedule of regular exhibition openings, events and private functions.
Wester provides a professional gallery space for recognised and emerging local, national or international multidisciplinary visual artists. Comprising of regular art exhibitions Wester has become a vital contributor to the rich cultural life of Newcastle and the Hunter.
The gallery comprises of one large gallery space, a Stockroom, and upstairs creative studios housing some of Newcastle's leading creatives.
Wester hosts new exhibition openings, currently the first Friday of every month, with exhibitions running for 3 weeks, by exciting emerging, mid-career and professional artists making Wester Gallery worth the visit.
