About this location
Wilberforce Park is a place of state heritage significance in Hawkesbury as it is a wonderful surviving example of the Great Squares that were created in Australia 200 years ago.
When you are in the area the park is the perfect place to stop and stretch your legs. Why not take time to relax and enjoy a picnic? The park has large leafy mature trees and you will find seating with covered shelters and there is also a children’s playground. Parking is available on the road that surrounds the park. A short stroll away you will find the Wilberforce shops - nice and close in case you have forgotten anything for your picnic outing.
Another feature for history buffs is the location of the park as it is adjacent to the historic Macquarie Schoolhouse (1819) and the appealing St John's Anglican Church (1859).
The Park has a war memorial. Conflicts remembered at the site include the Great War from 1914-18 and also the Vietnam War.
You will find Wilberforce Park located on George Road at Wilberforce, and bounded by George and Macquarie Roads.
