Overview of this event
Big Bad Wolf by Matthew Whittet is a joyful outdoor theatre experience presented by Upstage Youth Theatre at the beautiful Tocal Homestead, for families in Maitland and the Hunter Valley these school holidays.
This hilarious and heart-warming family show, reimagines the classic fairy tale, following Wolfy, a poetry writing vegetarian, who is nothing like the villain you've heard about and Heidi Hood, a trophy-winning champion who might discover that friendship is the greatest prize of all.
Perfect for families looking for things to do with kids in Maitland and the Hunter Valley these school holidays, the experience invites audiences to bring a picnic, explore the historic grounds of Tocal Homestead, and enjoy a 60-minute theatrical adventure under the trees.
Families can also add a magical "Into the Forest" creative workshop presented by local Maitland studio Nature & Nurture, where children design woodland masks, build forest worlds and create their own stories inspired by the show.
