Overview of this event
Now in its 18th year, the Museum of Art and Culture, yapang proudly presents First Class 25, continuing its commitment to showcasing and celebrating the exceptional creative achievements of the previous year's HSC Visual Arts cohort.
This highly anticipated exhibition gives voice to our local young people, who communicate with great insight and confidence on issues that matter to them. Their world is expressed through their works, which draw on a richly diverse range of inspirations, from family, relationships, the human condition, immigration, and the environment to more playful depictions of fantastical creatures, beloved pets, and even the ubiquitous urban pigeon.
While traditional forms such as painting, drawing and sculpture remain strongly represented, contemporary approaches emerge through digital technologies and multimodal installations. Together, these artworks offer audiences insights and imagery that are thoughtful, inventive, and resonant.
Featuring students from across the Upper Hunter to the Central Coast, this celebrated exhibition once again honours the remarkable talent of our local young artists and the creative vision they contribute to the community.
