Overview of this event
Enormously popular on its release in 1927, this delightful silent comedy The Kid Skates is a highly entertaining romp through kids gangs, goat races, break-ins, aeroplanes, backyard cricket and the like, presenting a fascinating snapshot of Australia at the time.
Shot on location in NSW and Queensland the plot is funny, touching and engaging, ending with a climactic race which leaves audiences gasping with excitement.
Award-winning pianist and composer Jan Preston will perform her musical score for the film, performing on the Cliff Wallis' grand piano.
