This report outlines the work of the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust and private landholders to protect and enhance biodiversity in NSW.

It shows how dedicated conservation management on privately-managed land has had a positive impact on biodiversity in NSW, with ecological monitoring showing biodiversity improvement, and more than on unprotected land.

Measuring biodiversity

Protection avoids biodiversity loss

Privately managed conservation areas have prevented substantial vegetation clearing and reduced the risk of biodiversity loss.

Animal diversity

Monitoring and research show relatively greater animal diversity on privately managed conservation areas.
