Local Government Night-Time Economy Diagnostic Tool
This Diagnostic Tool will map your council's night-time economy maturity level and capacity of your council to grow and support it.
The exercise should ideally be undertaken with input from council officers across the organisation, to help you understand the maturity of your night-time economy precinct(s) and current readiness of your council to grow and manage it.
The questions are structure around the 4 domains referred to throughout the Toolkit:
The exercise should ideally be undertaken with input from council officers across the organisation, to help you understand the maturity of your night-time economy precinct(s) and current readiness of your council to grow and manage it.
The questions are structure around the 4 domains referred to throughout the Toolkit:
- Governance – council commitment, resources and structures to support night-time economy
- Strategy – reference to night-time economy in council strategies and plans
- Place – current scale of night-time activity in your LGA precinct(s) and place initiatives to support this
- Data – availability of data to measure night-time activity and inform strategies/programs.
You will get a score for each of the 4 domains. You might find that your council is more progressed in one domain than another (i.e. high score for Place but low score for Governance) and that may be where you want to focus your efforts to move to the next stage.
Go to the Implementation Guide that relates to the maturing level of your lowest score, so that you focus efforts/resources on addressing that domain first, to help you progress along the continuum.
