Privacy - Password Portal

The Password Portal is used to update your GovConnect password.

What kind of personal information is collected and held?

The Password Portal makes use of a secure code to verify identity.  There is a mandatory field for an alternate phone number at first Sign In. You can choose whether to use your personal mobile number as an alternative number.

Providing your number is optional

If you prefer not to provide a personal mobile phone number, you can enter your work phone number instead. You can choose to receive the secure code via work email, work phone or alternate phone. If you choose not to provide a mobile number, you will not be able to verify your identity via SMS.

Who is collecting this data and how is it stored?

The Password Portal is administered by SailPoint and the Department of Customer Service. Your data is stored within the SailPoint solution platform that is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the cloud. SailPoint is the owner of the solution platform, and the Department of Customer Service is the provider of outsourced Information Technology Services.

Who can access the information?

Your alternate phone number can only be used by you and the administers for the purpose outlined in this document.

What is the purpose of collecting the personal information?

If you provide your mobile number as your alternative phone number, it can be used in the following scenarios:

  • To access the Password Portal when not connected to the GovConnect network
  • To reset a forgotten password (Problems signing in)
  • To update contact information
  • To unlock your account after 5 failed logon attempts to the Password Portal

How you can access your information

It is possible to update your alternate phone number at any time by signing into the Password Portal, then click on your name in the top right-hand corner and select Preferences from the drop-down list. Click Edit to update.

All Department of Customer Service vendors are required to comply with NSW Government Privacy and Security Policies and all relevant State and Commonwealth legislation relating to privacy and the protection of personal information
