NESA strives to ensure students in NSW reach their highest potential at school. The 2024–25 annual report highlights NESA's goals and how NESA has achieved them during the year.
During 2024–25 NESA:
- successfully delivered the 2024 HSC and 2025 NAPLAN
- passed the halfway milestone in the NSW Curriculum Reform program
- continued to reduce unnecessary workload for teachers with simplified school registration manuals, more flexibility in professional development (PD) requirements, and simplified Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) accreditation and maintenance
- established and now convenes the NSW Antibullying Working Group
- undertook the review of the HSC Disability Provisions Program
- worked with NSW Initial Teacher Education (ITE) providers to integrate nationally mandated core content into all ITE programs to ensure that graduate teachers are fully prepared for the classroom
- launched our Commitment to Aboriginal Education Action Plan
- updated our 2023–27 Child Safe Action Plan (CSAP).
