Experience the real Lebanon on a 3-month exchange program

You might think you know Lebanon, but Lebanon isn’t Beirut or Tripoli or Baalbek! There is a whole world outside the big cities that you can get to know.

- The exchange will provide you with accommodation during the period you attend school with an Arabic family.
- There will be 2 months of school and one month of holidays.
- The exchange is reciprocal. If you are accepted you will be expected to host a student either before or after your exchange.
- What you can offer a potential exchangee will be considered.

Abir demonstrates an excellent understanding of the task. She engages the listener and addresses all the selection criteria including that of being an ambassador for Australia. The presentation is fluent and Abir’s pronunciation is clear. She uses a variety of language structures and idioms to describe herself and the benefits of this valuable experience.
Abir’s response demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at a grade A.
Nalah demonstrates an outstanding understanding of the task. He engages the listener and addresses all the selection criteria including that of being an ambassador for Australia. He provides perceptive reasons for wanting to apply and uses persuasive language effectively to present his case. His pronunciation is excellent and he uses a range of complex sentences and vocabulary to express his ideas.

She demonstrates excellent fluency and uses a good variety of language structures, achieving effective communication while maintaining a very personal approach. Her pronunciation is clear and the few errors do not affect the quality of the presentation.

Sascha demonstrates an excellent understanding of the task. He speaks fluently with a good command of Arabic pronunciation. He uses a variety of well-developed structures to express some interesting and relevant ideas. Referencing all the criteria including his role as an ambassador for his country and the reciprocal nature of this exchange would have improved the response.
Sascha’s response demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at a grade B standard.
Joy demonstrates good understanding of the task and good control of high frequency Arabic words and phrases. She addresses some of the exchange criteria and attempts to express some complex ideas in Arabic. Several basic mistakes in the use of adjectives, verb forms and pronouns are also evident.

Alex has demonstrated a basic understanding of the task. Some criteria have not been addressed and irrelevant material has been included. Alex demonstrates some control over familiar vocabulary and phrases but communication is hampered at times by his pronunciation and lack of control of some basic grammatical structures. More careful manipulation of known structures to express simple relevant ideas and referencing all information including his role as an ambassador for his country and the reciprocal nature of the exchange would have improved the response.
Alex’s response demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at a grade D standard.
