Course performance descriptors for Graphics Technology
Course performance descriptors for Graphics Technology 7–10 (2019) provide holistic descriptions of typical achievement at different grade levels. Course performance descriptions are used to identify and report a student’s level of achievement in a Board Developed Course at the end of Stage 5.
Grade A
A student at this grade typically:
- demonstrates extensive knowledge and understanding of graphics standards, procedures and conventions, and applies this knowledge to produce a range of high-quality graphical presentations
- demonstrates a very high level of technical skill in interpreting and producing a range of high-quality manual and CAD-based graphical presentations
- critically analyses the nature of information and the intended audience to confidently select and develop a range of appropriate graphical presentations
- critically analyses environmental, societal and industrial impacts of a range of graphics technologies and proposes actions to minimise negative impacts
- identifies and uses very high level management techniques to meet predetermined briefs and specifications in new contexts.
Grade B
A student at this grade typically:
- demonstrates thorough knowledge and understanding of graphics standards, procedures and conventions, and applies this knowledge to produce effective graphical presentations
- demonstrates a high level of technical skill in interpreting and producing a range of manual and CAD-based graphical presentations
- analyses the nature of information and intended audience to confidently select and develop appropriate graphical presentations
- analyses environmental, societal and industrial impacts of a range of graphics technologies and outlines some actions to minimise negative impacts
- identifies and uses high level management techniques to meet predetermined briefs and specifications.
Grade C
A student at this grade typically:
- demonstrates sound knowledge and understanding of graphics standards, procedures and conventions, and uses this knowledge to produce adequate graphical presentations
- demonstrates adequate technical skill in producing manual and CAD-based graphical presentations
- interprets the nature of information and intended audience to select and develop appropriate graphical presentations
- describes environmental, societal and industrial impacts of selected graphics technologies
- identifies and uses adequate management techniques to meet predetermined briefs and specifications.
Grade D
