What this provision does
This provision provides students with exam papers that are printed on coloured paper as specified in the NESA Coloured Paper Range document.
Who this provision is for
This provision is usually for students who have:
- Irlen syndrome or scotopic sensitivity
- a vision impairment such as albinism or achromatopia causing glare distress.
How it works on the day
The student receives their exam paper and writing booklets printed on the approved coloured paper. The standard exam papers will also be available.
What supporting information is needed
Examples for Irlen syndrome or scotopic sensitivity
- Reading test results from a YARC (Level 2) or WIAT-III test where the test was conducted on white paper
- NESA Teacher Comments form
- Student declaration

Where to find more information
Schools can find forms and templates for most types of supporting information through the Schools Online platform. They will print out the relevant forms and give them to students, parents or caregivers as needed.
