What this provision does
This provision allows students to use an FM microphone to hear instructions from the supervisor or presiding officer.
Who this provision is for
This provision is for students with a hearing disability whose hearing aid connects to an FM microphone, allowing them to hear spoken instructions.
How it works on the day
For each exam, the presiding officer or supervisor wears an FM microphone to deliver all spoken instructions. The FM microphone is to be provided by the school or the student.
What supporting information is needed
Examples of supporting information for this provision include:
- NESA Hearing form, usually including a diagnosis of a related condition or disability
- NESA Teacher Comments form
- Student declaration.
