What this provision does
This provision allows the student to do their exam in a room with no other students.
Who this provision is for
This provision is for students who:
- are likely to disturb other students, such as those who have loud vocalisations related to a medical condition or disability
- can’t work near other students, for example a student with severe social phobia.
This provision is not granted solely because a student has been approved for another provision, such as a reader or writer. Students using readers or writers are expected to sit in a small group and be positioned in a way that prevents them from disrupting one another.
How it works on the day
The student will sit the exam in a room with no other students. A supervisor will also be in the room. If the student is approved provisions such as a reader or writer, the person undertaking that role will also be in the room.
What supporting information is needed
Examples of supporting information for this provision include:
- NESA Medical form, usually including a diagnosis of a related condition or disability
- NESA Teacher Comments form
- Student declaration.
