What this provision does
The provision allows students to use noise-reducing aids such as earplugs or earmuffs during HSC exams.
Who this provision is for
This provision is usually for students who are easily distracted by noise or have severe sensory difficulties.
How it works on the day
Students aren’t allowed to use a noise-reducing aid that can connect to any other device, either electronically or physically. The supervisor will check the aid before each exam.
Before they put the noise-reducing aid on, the student has to wait until the supervisor has made all the announcements and the exam has started. The supervisor has to make sure that the student hears any announcements made after the exam starts.
