What this provision does
The student is allowed to use JAWS or NVDA screen reading software to read out their responses.
Who this provision is for
This provision is for students who normally use JAWS or NVDA to access their responses to exam questions, such as students with a vision impairment.
How it works on the day
The student may use JAWS or NVDA to read their typed responses. The student will also be approved the use of a computer.
What supporting information is needed
Examples of supporting information for this provision include:
- NESA Vision form, usually including a diagnosis of a related condition or disability
- NESA Teacher Comments form
- Student declaration.
Where to find more information
Schools can find forms and templates for most types of supporting information through the Schools Online platform. They will print out the relevant forms and give them to students, parents or caregivers as needed.
