Flexibility for Preliminary course school-based assessment
NESA has amended ACE Rule 2.1.1 for Preliminary course school-based assessment to align with HSC school-based assessment.
Schools now have the authority to determine the number, type and weighting of school-based assessment tasks in Year 11 from 2025.

To align Preliminary and HSC school-based assessment, NESA has amended ACE Rule 2.1.1 for Year 11. Schools now have the authority to determine the number, type and weighting of school-based assessment tasks in Year 11 from 2025.
Schools that have already developed their assessment schedules for Year 11 2025 can proceed with their planned schedules. There is no requirement to make any alterations as a result of this change to the ACE Rule.
However, schools can modify their assessment programs if there is a need. Schools that modify their assessment programs have the authority to determine the number, type and weighting of school-based assessments.
