Voucher programs
The NSW Government offers various vouchers to help cover the costs of your child's activities and care. Find out more about the programs and how to apply.
Premier's Back to School
The Premier's Back to School NSW vouchers program helps families pay for school supplies, up to $150.
You can use the vouchers:
- at registered businesses
- towards the cost of school uniforms, shoes, bags, technology, textbooks and other eligible expenses
- before 30 June 2023.
Before and after school care
The Before and After School Care (BASC) program provides a $500 voucher for families with children aged 4 to 13 that attend a primary school in NSW.
The voucher can be used at an approved BASC provider to help reduce the cost of before and after school care.
You can apply for one voucher for each eligible child.
Active Kids
The Active Kids program provides two $100 vouchers for parents and carers of children enrolled in school to use towards sport and recreation costs each year.
Vouchers can be used to cover costs related to:
- registration
- membership and participation
- swimming lessons.
Creative Kids
The Creative Kids program is a one-off voucher payment to eligible parents and carers of up to $100 per calendar year.
The voucher can be used with a registered provider to pay for a range of activities, covering:
- creative arts
- drama and dance
- digital design and coding
- music lessons.
First Lap
The First Lap program provides a $100 voucher for parents and carers of eligible children aged 3 to 6 who are not enrolled in school to use on learn to swim classes.
The swimming lessons need to be with an approved First Lap provider and be:
- a structured and supervised program
- given by a swimming teacher
- in a swimming pool
- a program of at least 5 lessons.
