Program objective
The objectives of the program are to:
- Provide access to the screen industry for NSW-based emerging producers
- Support the employment and development of sustainable career pathways for NSW-based screen producers
- Contribute to the growth and sustainability of a vibrant and accessible screen industry.
This program is administered by Screen NSW.
Eligibility

You must fulfil the following eligibility requirements:
- Be an emerging producer who currently resides in NSW.
- Identify from one or more of the following under-represented groups:
- Regional NSW
- Western Sydney
- First Nations people
- People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- People living with disability
- LGBTQIA+ people.
- Fulfil one of the following criteria measuring your experience:
- Have at least one credit as producer on a short film or web series that has screened at one of the festivals on our Eligible Festival List (see Appendix A), OR
- Have at least 5 years' experience in the screen industry including having worked with an established production company and/or market player (broadcaster, streamer, distributor etc) in a relevant role
Priority for one placement will be reserved for an emerging First Nations producer.
Applicants must also adhere to the general eligible requirements under the Screen NSW Terms of Trade.

Address the eligibility criteria
Each applicant, as part of an application response, must confirm that they meet the eligibility criteria.
Applicants that do not address the eligibility criteria in full may be excluded from the application process at the department's discretion.
Address the assessment criteria
All applications are assessed against a common set of five criteria.
Successful applicants will show:
- A demonstrated understanding of production budgets (15%)
- Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines (20%)
- Analytical and research skills, and the ability to collate information and write reports using a variety of software packages (20%)
- An ability to work independently and to exercise initiative, sensitivity and discretion (20%)
- A knowledge of current development and project financing practices within Australia (25%).

Once your application has been submitted, you will receive an email confirmation from our secure online grants system, SmartyGrants.
Late applications due to technical difficulties will be reviewed and eligibility determined with absolute discretion by the Head, Screen NSW. You must lodge a request for a late application by email to industry@screen.nsw.gov.au setting out the reasons for the request, along with any evidence, by 3pm on the day applications close.
Applications will assessed for eligibility and a longlist will be provided to a panel of Screen NSW staff for assessment, including the Industry and Audience Development Manager and a representative from the Sector Investment team (Screen). Short-listed applicants will be invited to interview and subsequent recommendations will be considered by the Head of Screen NSW.
Your application will be assessed on the basis of your experience and your expression of interest relating to the selection criteria.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview.
