Program objective
The proposed $30 million grant will enable the replacement of three bridges, widening both roads to a 7‑metre sealed standard where practicable, targeted safety upgrades and construction of a fit‑for‑purpose road pavement. This will enable the route to safely carry increased traffic and heavy vehicles up to 12.5 metres long during future planned and unplanned incidents which close Waterfall Way at Gordonville Cutting, improving network resilience, freight access and supporting economic continuity for the region. Works will be integrated with the upcoming Waterfall Way restoration works to minimise disruptions.
