Avoca Drive Upgrade project team
What’s this about?
The Australian and NSW Governments are investing $130 million towards upgrades to Avoca Drive, Kincumber.
Transport has developed a design that will improve traffic flow and deliver better infrastructure for drivers, bus users, cyclists and pedestrians on Avoca Drive through the township of Kincumber.
A concept design and Review of Environmental Factors (REF) has been prepared for the upgrade of Avoca Drive between the intersections of:
- Bungoona Road and Carrak Road
- Joalah Road and Killuna Road.
This will help identify potential impacts and proposed mitigation measures.
The first stage of the upgrade will help ease congestion at the key intersection of Bungoona Road and Carrak Road. It will also improve traffic flow by widening the road and connecting to the existing four lane section east of the intersection of Joalah Road and Killuna Road. The upgrade will also provide safe and efficient access for the local community to key destinations along the route including Kincumber Village Shopping Centre, several schools and sporting facilities in the area.
Each submission received through the REF process would be considered as we move into the next stage of planning.
