What’s this about?
The NSW Government is delivering on commitments made in the NSW plan for nature by introducing additional reforms to improve the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme.
Targeted consultation on reform options was undertaken from July to October 2025. We are now seeking public feedback on the draft Biodiversity Conservation Amendment (Biodiversity Offsets Scheme) Regulation 2026.
This consultation provides an opportunity for anyone with an interest in the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme to provide feedback on the draft amendments before they are finalised.
A consultation paper has been prepared to help explain the proposed amendments and why the government is proposing them. This is available on the consultation web page along with the NSW plan for nature and the draft regulation.
