Managing mining vehicle interactions

What’s this about?
The Resources Regulator has consulted with stakeholders to develop the draft technical reference guide (TRG) — Roads or other vehicle operating areas principal hazard management plan for surface and open cut mining operations.
The guide provides information and guidance to make sure adverse vehicle interaction risks are managed according to work health and safety laws at NSW mine sites.
Adverse vehicle interactions are a significant hazard on roads and other vehicle operating areas in mining operations, with the potential to cause fatalities and serious injury.
In NSW, mine operators are required to eliminate risks to workers or when risks cannot be eliminated, ensure they are controlled as low as is reasonably practicable.
You are invited to have your say on the draft TRG. Your feedback will help the Resources Regulator address adverse vehicle interaction in the NSW mining industry.
