Dubbo Hospital is a major regional hospital that provides vital health care to thousands of people in Dubbo and western NSW. This includes the communities of Walgett, Bourke and Cobar.
The NSW Government invested $150 million to upgrade Dubbo Hospital in stages 3 and 4. This work helps make sure people in western NSW get high-quality health care closer to home.
Project benefits
This project will:
- deliver a new 3-storey clinical building so skilled health staff can continue to give the best possible care
- help attract and keep essential health workers and support modern ways of delivering care
- provide a culturally safe, respectful and welcoming space for everyone in the region.
Project scope
The upgrade includes:
- Emergency Department and short stay unit
- Medical Imaging Unit
- Surgical Inpatient Unit
- a critical care floor with a coronary care and stroke unit, Intensive Care Unit and cardiac catheter lab
- new location for the renal dialysis unit
- ambulatory care unit
- front entry and drop-off zone
- more parking on site.
