Beyond 5G Connectivity Summit 2023
Hosted by the Connectivity Innovation Network, the summit brought together experts in the telecommunications industry.
NSW Telco Authority Managing Director Kylie De Courteney and Director of Engineering Alison Port attended and presented at the second annual Beyond 5G Connectivity Summit on 11 October 2023.
Hosted by the Connectivity Innovation Network at University of Technology Sydney, the event brought together global leaders, experts and innovators from the telecommunications industry in Australia and across the world.
Kylie De Courteney opened the summit while Alison Port set the tone of the day with an insightful first presentation.
Alison discussed the challenges and opportunities of 6G, how we can maximise the return on investment in 5G infrastructure, and what emerging technologies we need to focus on for Beyond 5G systems.
Other speakers included Dr Bo Hagerman of Ericsson Software, Professor Wongbin Hong of Pohang University of Science and Technology and Dr Mikko A. Uusitalo of Nokia Bell Labs. They spoke about their respective Beyond 5G roadmaps, opportunities and preparations for 6G.
Launched in 2021, the Connectivity Innovation Network is a groundbreaking initiative of the NSW Government developed by the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist and Engineer and NSW Telco Authority.
