NSW Digital Connectivity Index launched
The NSW Digital Connectivity Index is an interactive map that measures and evaluates the quality of digital connectivity across the state.
NSW Telco Authority launched the NSW Digital Connectivity Index with support from the Department of Customer Service Spatial Services.
Developed as part of the NSW Connectivity Strategy, this interactive map measures and evaluates the quality of digital connectivity across the state through three key elements: access, affordability and demographics.
The Connectivity Index is based on metrics such as coverage, speeds, choice and performance, and is measured at a granular level based on 220 million public and commercially acquired datasets.
Through the Connectivity Index, government agencies and communities can access reliable and consistent connectivity data, enabling them to make informed decisions.
It can help inform priorities, digital inclusion initiatives and guide digital infrastructure investments within the state.
Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government The Hon. Jihad Dib MP said, “It is a priority for this Government to ensure everyone can confidently access and utilise the internet. The NSW Digital Connectivity Index will help identify areas where we may be able to provide support and work with other levels of government and industry to develop solutions.”
