For major construction, the Coffs Harbour bypass is continuing to build the bridge over Pine Brush Creek on the Pacific Highway between the Luke Bowen Pedestrian Bridge and James Small Drive (north). We have included a map showing the location of this work. For this bridge, we have built piles, columns, headstocks and abutments and installed the precast bridge girders. The next step is pouring the concrete deck.

The project is continuing to upgrade the Pacific Highway between the Luke Bowen Pedestrian Bridge and Campbell Close, Korora. This work needs to be completed so the project can move southbound highway motorists onto new lanes located slightly west of the existing carriageway and continue building the extension of Solidary Islands Way between Sapphire Beach and the Korora Hill Interchange.

As part of major construction, the project team sought agreement from impacted residents to extend our approved construction hours on Saturdays between Shephards Lane Tunnel north portal and Roberts Hill Tunnel south portal. The project team received a substantial majority of acceptance of the proposed out of hours work and it has now been approved. Our standard construction hours are Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm, and Saturday from 8am to 1pm.
