Best Practice Framework and downloadable resources

The NSW Return to Work Best Practice Framework (the Framework) has been co-designed with input from Return to Work Coordinators in the NSW Public Sector and was developed as part of the Return to Work Strategy to help sharpen agencies’ focus on organisation-wide return to work processes and outcomes.

The Framework is designed to assist Return to Work teams to benchmark current return to work systems, processes and practices, and identify areas for improvement.   

The Framework is comprised of 16 elements under four Standards:   

  • Standard 1: Governance and leadership  
  • Standard 2: Early response and intervention  
  • Standard 3: RTW planning  
  • Standard 4: Implementing the plan
