Our racing codes
We manage the relationships between the government and responsible bodies for the three racing codes.
Racing makes a significant contribution to the NSW economy.
The NSW Government commissioned a study into the size and scope of the racing industry in NSW in 2014. The study found:
- racing is a $3.3 billion industry in NSW
- over 90,000 people directly participate in the racing industry as employees, participants or volunteers
- approximately 1.8 million people attend race meetings annually
- economic activity generated by the racing industry sustains more than 27,550 full time equivalent positions across NSW.
