Transport for NSW advises vessel operators that the Coastal & Marine Science team in the Department of Planning and Environment installed a wave measuring buoy approximately 300 metres Northwest of Gunyah Point at Bundeena on Port Hacking (34° 4.722' S 151° 9.217' E). Mariners are advised that this is an approximate position for the wave measuring buoy which will remain in place until October 2023.
Latitude and longitude positions are on WGS84 horizontal datum and are compatible with GDA94 datum.
The buoy is a special marker and yellow in colour. The buoy is also indicated by a navigation light that has a Flashing Yellow pattern.
Mariners are to remain at least 100 metres clear of any wave measuring buoy and are not to attach a vessel to the buoy.
