Overview of this event
From December 1st to January 5th, the Yamba Iluka Christmas Boat returns for its ninth dazzling season. This beloved community tradition—hosted by two locals with hearts full of Christmas spirit—is a free nightly spectacle that lights up the river and the faces of all who gather.
Each evening, the boat either anchors in easily accessible spots or cruises the local waters, shimmering with festive lights. Santa takes his place on the front deck, playing Christmas carols and waving to families, friends, and strangers drawn to the glow.
Whether you're visiting Yamba, Iluka, or exploring the Northern Rivers, this floating celebration offers a unique way to experience the Christmas season. It's more than a boat—it's a festive invitation to pause, connect, and feel a little Joy and Christmas magic.
