Know your normals - sheep and goat husbandry

Keeping small ruminants such as goats and sheep can be rewarding and productive.

Join Hunter Local Land Services for this on-property, practical workshop, suitable for first-time or new ruminant owners/managers, those with smaller mobs, or anyone wanting to dust up on best-practice animal husbandry and management.

Presented by our goat-expert District Veterinarian, Kylie Greentree and supported by Hunter Local Land Services staff, the workshop will include practical demonstrations and discussions on:

• Species ‘normals’ and common conditions.

• Nutrition.

• Feet trimming, vaccination, and drenching demonstrations.

• eID ear tagging, scanning, and NLIS requirements.

• Q&A session and real-life producer experiences.
