Information for service stations
All operators must register with FuelCheck. To register your service station, you must provide:
- contact details for the person responsible for setting retail fuel prices
- the location of the service station
- details about the types of fuel available.
Submitting prices to FuelCheck
Service station operators can submit fuel prices:
- on the FuelCheck website, or
- by using a web application programming interface (API).
For further information about API, please email support@gtp.nsw.gov.au
Fuel prices must match
Make sure your service station price for fuel in FuelCheck matches the standard price of fuel at your service station at all times. The standard price is the price per litre available to retail customers without any:
- discounts, or
- special offers, for example, shopper dockets.
There may be occasions where the price on FuelCheck does not match that shown on a physical price board or bowser, due to reasons outside the service station’s control. When this occurs, inform the FuelCheck team at fuelchecknews@customerservice.nsw.gov.au. For example, the FuelCheck website or API may be offline, the service station may not be able to connect to the internet to register a price update, or there could be an issue with the device being used to access FuelCheck.
Consumers are able to lodge a complaint with NSW Fair Trading directly via FuelCheck regarding instances of fuel price mismatch. NSW Fair Trading may issue penalty notices for non-compliance, of $550 for an individual and $1100 for a corporation.
