Volunteering and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Across NSW, communities are strengthened by the contributions of millions of diverse volunteers doing remarkable things.
From improving access to food and housing, to protecting the environment and supporting learning, connection and wellbeing, volunteers are helping deliver real progress against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
To celebrate IVY 2026, DCJ will share the stories of some of these dedicated volunteers who give their time and energy to support the SDGs.
About the United Nations SDGs
In 2015 the United Nations (UN) set 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a call to action for all countries to work in partnership to end poverty, improve health and education, reduce inequality, spur economic growth, protect our environment and tackle climate change.
